Turning Point 2010 Festival !!!
This weekend we were invited to attend the Turning Point 2010 Festival at the Camden roundhouse !!! we were supporting the young people we are working with on the Dare to Dream Documentary production. The Festival had five different stages and show cased some great raw UK Talent, performers included JME, Lady Dynamite and Professor Green, as well as an exclusive set to showcase our very own KYC entourage.

We rolled up to the event in a minibus filled for 20, were given our tickets at the door and told to make our way through the main entrance into the roundhouse.
The Kyc youths proceeded backstage whilst I got stuck at the entrance to be searched and hassled for a filming permit. As I stood anxiously observing what was to follow, we were rescued !
Are you the KYC Flm squad?
Indeed we are.
Your up in five min, you need to be on set and ready immediately to commence filming !!!
The KYC crew consists of several musicians, singers, rappers and vocalists showcasing their talent.
We have been working with all these young people over the last few weeks towards making our feature DVD "Dare to Dream".
The young people featured on the DVD are the same young people who helped to make it. They are some of the most talented, inspiring and motivating young people I have meet. They are consistently pushing barriers and expressing creativity through positive and constructive means.
To my greatest delight ... They smashed up their set, which constituted of two 30min slots on an outdoor stage at the Camden roundhouse, watched by over 200 people both entertaining and original. Our cameraman Mark Green, and gonzo journalist Abdolla Moalim were able to catch up with some of the KYC performers after their performances which will be featured exclusively on the "Dare to Dream" documentary.
" KYC ... Set for big things" - funmilayo
"What a show !!" - Sabina
Admittedly, these kids really did entertain and perform to a high standard, amongst the acts were GLide and the SK entourage, Starcy and Madda. I believe that all these acts are extremely talented in their creative field being music, therefore whether they make it in the music industry or not is irrelevant, because they have already made it in themselves – to be loved by all those around them and all those with an interest, and the results are astonishing!
After the performance we caught up with some of the staff and volunteers working at the festival, we also filmed a Q&A session with several music industry professionals including the beautiful Ms Dynamite. The event was pleasant and after the KYC set, the crowd enjoyed a Zionist reggae set by Ziggy Funk who Iried us out with the latest reggae riddims and conscious Vocals.
Present at the event were other commercial organisations and business including Pins @ pinsinspired.com and Sony HQ who were showcasing the latest 3D televisions, mp3 players, stero’s and SLOMO cameras!
The 3D TV is absolutely amazing, but retailing at £1500. For the set and an additional £100.00 per 3D glasses the set is not cheap!
But it is worth it! - It takes football visual experience to a whole next level.
Celeste and Raphel international promoters for Sony did a great job in engaging the crowd with the latest Sony gear and we were all kitted out and experimenting within no time, they also gave away three 3D TVs , Mp3 players and stereos in their competitions and overall had a good pitch which received a lot of attention throughout the festival.
The night went on two feature performances in the main space from Roll Deep, Dynamite, Delvin, Donaeo, JME and MistaJam.
Overall wicked Vbez throughout the whole festival...
Will we be going back next year???
Most Definitely!!
Special thanks to Ms dynamite, Ben Kwofie , xBx, Starcy , Whats Up & Funmilayo for a wicked Set !!
